Colorado State takes a break from conference play to face the Razorbacks in three-game series slate
FORT COLLINS - The Colorado State softball team faces Arkansas in an away series on April 18-19. The Rams will compete in three games over two days, opening with their first game on Friday against the Razorbacks.

- After the fifth week of conference play, Colorado State is ranked eighth in the Mountain West with a 5-11 record.
- Next week, the Rams will return to Ram Field to face Fresno State in a conference series.
- Next week's conference series will include the Rams' annual Pink Out game and Senior Day to honor the graduating student athletes.Â
- Last season, the Razorbacks finished the regular season ranked fourth in the SEC alongside powerhouse programs such as Florida, Tennessee and Texas A&M. The Razorbacks are currently ranked seventh in the SEC after five weeks of conference play, in which they are 10-8 after facing Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Florida and South Carolina. Senior Bri Ellis leads the Razorbacks' offense with a .484 batting average after 46 hits, 60 RBI and 20 home runs, for a 1.189 slugging percentage. The Razorbacks have relied on junior Robyn Herron in the circle, who currently holds a 13-4 record over 98 innings pitched, with an ERA of 2.21. This will be the first time the Rams will face the Razorbacks in program history and the second SEC team they will face this season after competing against Texas earlier this year.
- Last weekend, the Rams faced New Mexico in an away conference series. After going 1-2 on the week, the Rams are ranked eighth in the Mountain West with an overall record of 15-25.
- The Rams defeated the Lobos on Sunday, pulling away with a 4-1 win, thanks to a strong team offense contributing throughout the game. Kaylynn English, Brooke Bohlender, Jailey Wilson, Abby Edwards, Jordan West and Morgan Coleman all recorded hits in game three, largely contributing to the Rams' win.Â
- Bohlender had a strong weekend offensively with six hits, two of which were doubles, as she continues to lead the team with a .383 batting average.Â
- English also continued to show her strength both offensively and defensively, adding four hits on offense and six assists on defense.
- Giselle Bentley pitched two back-to-back complete games and was awarded the win Sunday. Bentley totaled seven strikeouts throughout the weekend, shutting down the Lobos' offense after the first innings of both games she pitched.
