Haber set to transfer; Amalnathan added to freshman class
FORT COLLINS – Colorado State women's tennis coach Mai-Ly Tran announced Monday the addition of a local transfer as well as a fourth freshman to add to the 2025-26 roster.
Â
Hanna Haber | Senior | Metro State
Â
Haber will join the team after spending three seasons at Metro State, which discontinued both its men's and women's tennis programs at the conclusion of the 2024-25 season.Â
Â
In three years with the Roadrunners, Haber has posted a 35-28 mark in singles, 39-29 in doubles. Haber, who was born in Fort Collins but raised in Illinois, had her best season to date as a junior, playing at the top lines in both doubles in singles. She and her partners carried a 13-10 mark in doubles, while she went 14-9 in singles play. At Division II, she had held national rankings as high as No. 56 in singles and No. 40 in doubles.
Â
Tran says: "We are extremely excited to welcome Hanna to our squad this fall. She has roots in Fort Collins, and she is a familiar face throughout Colorado, and we're thrilled she'll be representing CSU. She joins us as a transfer and brings valuable experience that will elevate our team right away.  What stands out most about Hanna is her energy, enthusiasm, and genuine love for the game. She's shown strong leadership qualities, which will be especially valuable for our younger team this season. Hanna is a fighter on the court and always looking to grow—both as a player and a person. She will be a fantastic addition to our program, and we can't wait to have her on campus."
Â
Anishka Amalnathan | Freshman | South Bend, Ind.| Saint Joseph HS
Â
A three-time all-state selection with state doubles and team titles to her credit, Amalnathan is set to join the program after four successful seasons in high school.
Â
A three-star recruit by the Tennis Recruiting Network, she is ranked as the No. 28 prospect out of the Great Lakes Region, No. 3 in the state of Indiana. In recent years, she has posted a 10-13 record against four- and three-star recruits.
Â
She has a sister, Ashi, who is currently playing at South Carolina State, with the two of them pairing for a state title while in high school. Her father, Arul, has served as her private coach as she's lived in three different countries – India (where she was born), Sri Lanka and currently in the United States.
Â
Tran says: "We are thrilled to welcome Anni to Colorado State this fall. She is a tremendous fit for our program, bringing a strong commitment to both academics and tennis. Anni values being a great teammate and embraces the standards of a Division I student-athlete. She is eager to contribute to our high-achieving culture and is hungry to keep growing and improving. We are excited to add Anni to our 2025 class and can't wait to see the impact she will make on and off the court."
