Team Set for Fall Competition

Rams will open season on home courts
FORT COLLINS – Much of the layout looks the same, just with a different order which provides a start from the comfort of home.

Coach Mai-Ly Tran's Colorado State women's tennis team will begin fall play at home, hosting the Jon Messick Invitational at the CSU Tennis Complex on Sept. 12-14. The three-day, 10-team event generally falls the second weekend of play for the team, switching slots with the Bedford Cup hosted by Air Force. That tournament will be played the following weekend in Colorado Springs.

After a two-week break, the schedule will come fast and furious as the team takes part in the Mountain West Individual Qualifiers in Las Vegas, Nev. (Oct. 3-6), followed immediately by the ITA Mountain Regional in Provo, Utah (Oct. 7-11).

The Rams will close the fall with the San Diego State Classic from Nov. 7-9.

This year's roster will feature just three returners – Luana Avelar, Diana Lizarazo and Logan Voeks – joined by seven newcomers made up of four freshmen and three transfers.

The spring schedule will be released at a later date.
