English Named to 2026 All-Mountain West Preseason Team

Junior shortstop earns first preseason honor of her career

FORT COLLINS - The Mountain West announced the 2026 Preseason Honors on Thursday, with Kaylynn English being one of four juniors to make the All-Mountain West team. 

As voted by the league's 10 head coaches, English makes the team after a successful sophomore season. Offensively, during the 2025 season, English contributed 33 hits, 14 of which were RBI, for a hitting percentage of .359 and a slugging percentage of .500. 

Additionally, English showed her strengths in other areas of the game, finishing the season with a .410 on-base percentage and six stolen bases. Defensively, English ended the 2025 season with 79 assists and 74 putouts for a final fielding percentage of .987. 

At the end of the 2025 season, English received several accolades, including NFCA All-District Second Team, All-Mountain West Second Team, Mountain West Scholar-Athlete, Mountain West Academic All-Conference and CSC Academic All-District. 

The Rams will kick off their 2026 season February 6 at 10:30 a.m. against Cal Poly at the Sac State opening weekend torunament.
