One of the Rams[apos] key performers during their Mountain West schedule in 2005, Sean Morris returns with high expectations entering his sophomore campaign. Morris, who is the younger brother of CSU senior guard Micheal, quickly became one of the Rams[apos] top outside threats as a rookie and ended the season as one of the top shooters in the Mountain West Conference. Sean has a unique blend of athleticism and shooter[apos]s instinct that makes him one of Colorado State[apos]s top returners this year. 2004-05 • FRESHMAN SEASON Sean quickly became one of the top newcomers in the Mountain West Conference after hitting a school-record nine three-pointers in a 31-point performance at UNLV on Jan. 22. In the game, the freshman was 9-of-14 from long range while dishing out five assists and grabbing three steals. For the season, Sean ranked second (behind teammate Jason Smith) in freshman scoring in the MWC averaging 8.3 points per game. He also ranked fourth among league rookies in rebounding corralling 2.6 boards per night. In CSU[apos]s freshman record books, Morris[apos] 8.3 points per game ranks sixth. Morris sat out the first eight games of the season with an injured foot but came out strong in Mountain West play, finishing the season second on the team in both assists and steals and leading the squad in three-point field goals in league play. Sean ranked second in the conference in three-pointers made per game in league contests hitting 2.57 per game. Aside from his career night in Las Vegas, Morris also had memorable performances in a nine-rebound effort against New Mexico on Feb. 5 while matching a career-high with five assists against the Lobos in Albuquerque. He was also superb in a 12-point, eight-rebound night against BYU. HIGH SCHOOL Sean was a three-year starter and letterwinner at Cinco Ranch High School for head coach Rick Ellis. He was named to all-league basketball teams three times and earned all-district and all-state honors as a junior and senior. Two times he was named as his team[apos]s MVP while guiding his team to three consecutive conference and district titles. Sean set school records for most career points and three-point field goals. He also was a standout in track & field where he competed in the long jump, high jump, triple jump and relay events. WHY I CHOSE CSU 'The people are nice, the coaches are great and my brother was on the team.'
