High school
Sarah lettered in cross country, lacrosse and track while attending Geneva Community High School in Geneva, Ill., and Prior Lake High School in Prior Lake, Minn. She received all-state honors her sophomore and junior seasons while at Prior Lake and received all-state honors her senior year at Geneva Community. She was part of a state championship cross country team at Prior Lake and also captained the team the previous year in 2007. She received all-academic honors, was a board scholar and graduated with a 3.9 GPA.
Personal
Sarah was born to Mark and Susan Heuer on Jan. 31, 1991, in St. Paul, Minn. She has a young brother, Zach, and two older sisters, Siena and Meghan. She is majoring in biological science.
