Sahvanna Jaquish
- Title:
- Assistant Coach
Head softball coach Jen Fisher announced the addition of Sahvanna Jaquish to her coaching staff as an assistant coach on August 8, 2022. Jaquish was the first four-time All-American for LSU from 2014-17 before playing for Team USA and currently Athletes Unlimited.
Â
"We're thrilled to welcome Sahvanna Jaquish to our CSU softball family," Fisher said. "Sahvanna brings a passion for helping young women develop personally and in sport. She loves competition and possesses a wealth of knowledge, experiences and positivity that make her a perfect fit for our department. With Coach Jaquish on staff, I am confident this team can make a run at a conference championship."
Â
Jaquish, a native of Highland, Calif., comes to Colorado State after serving as an assistant coach at Dixie Tech in 2021, the University of La Verne during 2019 and as a volunteer assistant at LSU during the 2018 season. Before joining the coaching ranks, Jaquish inked a memorable playing career at LSU and later with Team USA and in the National Fastpitch Pro league.Â
Â
"I would like to thank head coach Jen Fisher and the athletic administration selection committee for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the accomplished Colorado State softball program," said Jaquish. "Throughout my time on campus I was able to learn about the culture and values that are deeply rooted in CSU. I saw right away the commitment and dedication to the student-athletes from the coaching staff, the administration and the community. I am excited and honored to be a part of the Ramily and to be able to call Fort Collins and Colorado State my home."
Â
During her time in Baton Rouge, Jaquish became the first player in LSU history and the 33rd overall to earn All-American honors all four seasons. She also earned division, conference and tournament awards throughout her career, while being named a USA Softball Player of the Year Top 34 finalist as a senior.
Â
She finished her career with 268 RBI, ranking first at LSU and ninth in NCAA history. She graduated in the top five in career slugging percentage, on-base percentage, doubles, home runs, RBI, total bases, walks, intentional walks and sacrifice flies.
Â
With Team USA, Jaquish helped the squad win gold at the 2018 WBSC World Championship Gold, hitting two home runs and driving in six RBI.
Jaquish is currently in her third season with Athletes Unlimited and is in third place on the leaderboard in the league's unique tracking system after six games this season. While with Athletes Unlimited, she coaches and plays on a team for five weeks against other AU teams with the same format.
