Colorado State Volleyball Signs Three

Colorado State University volleyball Head Coach Tom Hilbert announced Wednesday afternoon the volleyball team had three players sign a National Letter of Intent for the 2005 season.
Ashley Fornstrom, Cheyenne, Wyoming (Cheyenne Central), 5-9 Setter
Ashley is a two-time all-state 4A First Team selection and was a unanimous pick to the 4A South All-Conference team this season... Central finished third at the state championship in the final two matches, Fornstrom had 26 kills, 23 digs and 30 assists... She also plays club volleyball for NORCO where she was named a RMR All-Star... She and teammate Jaime Strauss, who also signed today, led the NORCO team to a championship at the Reno National Qualifier and a third-place finish at the Las Vegas Invitational.
?Ashley is a natural athlete who has grown up playing a lot of sports,? said Hilbert. ?The job of setting comes very natural to her and she?s a strong, well-rounded player thats only going to get better.?
Tessa Nelson, Balaton, Minnesota (Tracy/Milroy/Balaton), 6-2 Middle Blocker
Tessa has recorded over 1,000 career kills at TMB and is starting the state playoffs this week... She was the 2003 212 All-Conference Most Valuable Player and was a Coaches Association Class AA All-State selection... Tessa was also the 2003 State MVP in Field Events after winning the state championship in both the high jump and triple jump.
?Tessa comes from a small program in southwest Minnesota and has great athletic ability. She?s got all the playing tools to be a great middle blocker.?
Jaime Strauss, Fort Collins, Colorado (Windsor), 6-1 Outside Hitter
Jaime ranks second in the state in 4A in kills with 421 and begins state playoffs on Friday... She was a 2003 Second Team All-State selection and was also a RMR All-Star with NORCO Volleyball Club... She and teammate Ashley Fornstrom, who also signed today, led the NORCO team to a championship at the Reno National Qualifier and a third-place finish at the Las Vegas Invitational... Windsor is currently 24-2 and finished 14-1 in conference play.
?The most exciting thing about Jaime is she?s a skilled player in all facets of the game. She will be ready to play at the collegiate level early in her career.?
