Softball Signs Molly Gallu

Softball Head Coach Mary Yori announced the signing of Molly Gallu from Fort Collins who will transfer from Otero Junior College and have three years of eligibility remaining.

* Is the starting shortstop at Otero Junior College. Originally went to East Carolina to play basketball but transfered to Otero in 2002. Was an Academic All-Region selection at Otero in 2002-03 and played high school basketball with current CSU student-athletes Ashley Venekamp and Msur Tor-Agbidye at Fort Collins. Was a 2002 All-Colorado Basketball Team selection and also played soccer for the Lambkins. Did not play basketball this season at Otero after deciding to concentrate on softball. Is currently batting .419 on the season with a slugging percentage of .628. Has 10 doubles, four triples and six home runs on the year with 43 RBI.
?She is an outstanding athlete,? said Yori. ?She is a very versatile player and a strong hitter and we are very happy she has three years of eligbility left. We think she has a very good future ahead of her at Colorado State.?
The signing period continues until May 1 for both men?s and women?s basketball and until August 1 for all the other sports except football.
