Farrell Tabbed as First Team All-American

Colorado State junior Kerry Farrell was heralded as a First Team Easton all-American selection while senior Ricki Walker and freshman Jessica Strickland earned honorable mention status for their performances in the 2004 season.
Farrell, an Omaha, Neb. native, was a First Team all-Mountain West selection in 2004, leading the league and ranking 13th in the nation in doubles (18) and ranking fifth in the conference in batting average (.361), slugging percentage (.620) and RBI (38). Farrell?s double total ranks second in the CSU single-season record books. Defensively, Kerry was solid behind the plate for CSU, committing just one error on the year and holding a .997 fielding percentage. In conference games, she led the Mountain West hitting .417 with four home runs and 19 RBI in 20 games.
Strickland captured all-American honorable mention acclaim after being named the Mountain West Conference Newcomer of the Year in 2004. The Lakewood, Colo. native led the league and ranked fourth in the country with seven saves while holding a 2.09 earned-run average on the year. Strickland posted an 11-4 record on the season in 28 appearances for the Rams. At the plate, Strickland was also a solid performer. The freshman was third on the team with a .366 batting average and ranked second with a slugging percentage of .652.
Walker, a third team Easton all-American selection in 2003, was named honorable mention after leading the Mountain West with a .399 batting average and 18 doubles and ranking second in the league with 67 hits. The Aurora, Colo. product also ranked nationally in batting average (37th) and doubles (15th) in 2004 and will leave CSU with her name entrenched in the school?s record books. Ricki is second on the career batting average and doubles lists while also ranking in the top five in career home runs, slugging percentage and RBI. Walker was also a CoSIDA Academic All-American third team selection in 2004.
The Rams finished their season with a 40-14 overall record and a mark of 16-4 in conference play, earning the Mountain West regular season title.
