The Colorado State volleyball team, in a vote by the Mountain West Conference head coaches and selected media, has been chosen to finish third in the Mountain West, the league announced today.
BYU and Utah each received 116 points and six first-place votes, while the Rams were right behind them with 101 points and the final two first-place nods. UNLV was picked to finish fifth, while San Diego State and Wyoming tied for six with 59 points each. New Mexico, TCU and Air Force rounded out the voting, respectively.
Last season, Colorado State finished second in the Mountain West and were 21-9 overall, advancing to the 11th straight NCAA Tournament. The Rams return four starters and six letterwinners off the 2005 team.
The season begins for the Rams on August 25 with the Hilton Classic in Moby Arena. The Rams host Missouri State, Morgan State and Texas A&M in the tournament. Season tickets are available by calling the Colorado State ticket office at 970.491.RAMS.
