Final Stats

The Colorado State softball team beat Penn State for the second day in a row at the Fresno State Bulldog Classic. The Rams blanked the Nittany Lions 1-0 and improve to 13-11 on the season and 3-1 in the tournament.

The Rams got their only run from a lead-off homer by junior Julia Kloppe in the bottom of the second. Despite some infield errors, sophomore Kim Klabough's strong pitching led the Rams to the win. "It felt good to get a 1-0 win in a close game. I was happy, we really stayed relaxed and loose today. Kim stayed poised and pitched a great game," added head coach Mary Yori. Klabough pitched the complete game, allowing five hits and no walks while striking out six batters. With the victory, she improves to 5-4.

Colorado State will close the Fresno State Bulldog Classic with a final game against Purdue tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. MT. The squad will then travel to Sacramento, Calif. for two double header matchups with Iowa and Iowa State on March 13 and March 15, respectively.
