Final Stats

Albuquerque, N.M. - The Colorado State softball team dropped a 4-1 decision to the New Mexico Lobos Sunday, its fifth straight loss in conference play. The Rams are now 20-16 on the season and 1-5 in MWC.

The Rams' lone run came in the top of the third inning with one out. Senior Lauren Cusick doubled to center field and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Sophomore Allison Majam plated Cusick on her sacrifice fly to right field, which gave the Rams a 1-0 lead.

The Lobos answered in the bottom half of the fourth inning with three runs of their own and added another run the following inning to give them a 4-1 lead.

The Rams threatened in the top of the seventh inning with runners at first and second with one out, but Lobos pitcher Kelly Ninemire retired the final two CSU batters to grab the 4-1 victory.

Colorado State heads back to Fort Collins for a rescheduled match with in-state rival Northern Colorado on Wednesday at 3 p.m., at Ram Field.  The Rams play their MWC home opener on Friday, a televised (The Mtn.) doubleheader with UNLV. First pitch is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. MT.
