Hey Rammie Fans!
This past week we were all off from school and enjoying spring break and playing some softball games! Our team left for a 10-day, 13-game trip to Northern California and Reno, Nev. We were all excited for some tough competition and also a little time off from classes and our studies.
We began our trip with a three-day tournament hosted by San Jose State in San Jose, Calif., where we played five games with an exciting win over Vermont, 7-0.
One of the big highlights of the trip was our one-day excursion to San Francisco, Calif. We took vans to the Bart Station, which is like a subway, and then rode on the Bart into the city. Once inside San Fran, we all took a very exciting ride on a cable car that gave us an awesome tour of many of the city's more famous sites and interesting sectors. The tour ended at Fisherman's Wharf, where we split off in many different directions to see the sites. Many of us headed down to some food vendors near the docks to enjoy some delicious clam chowder in bread bowls! During our trip we were also able to get in some prime shopping runs.
After San Francisco, we headed to Stockton, Calif., to play a doubleheader against Pacific. The next day we traveled to Reno, Nev., for a one-game series against the University of Nevada, Reno.
Our final destination for the trip was Sacramento, Calif., for a five-game series at Sacramento State University. We had two solid wins over Dartmouth during the first half of the tourney and a thrilling 2-1 victory over nationally ranked Cal-Berkley. One of our freshman pitchers, Kelli Eubanks, threw an amazing game with some key strikeouts with runners in scoring position. It was a great team win that showed how much potential this squad has, and is only a preview of the amazing things we plan to do during our upcoming conference games!
We play this Sunday, March 29, at noon and 3 p.m. against the University of Northern Colorado at Ram Field for our home opener. We would love to see you all there!
Until next time Rammie Fans,
Jenna and Al
