SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Colorado State recorded a single in all but one inning Saturday at San Diego State, but the Aztecs’ offense was too much for the Rams as they fell 8-0 in five innings at SDSU Softball Stadium.
Jessica Camello got San Diego State on the board in the bottom of the first inning when she singled through the left side to plate teammate Monica Alnes.
The Aztecs (24-10, 2-0 MWC) added to their lead in the bottom of the third after Felicia Reifschneider drew a leadoff walk and scored when Alnes doubled down the right field line.
Camello scored San Diego State’s third run of the game after she singled to lead off the fourth frame and scored when Jen Wisneski reached on an error by junior Caitlan Stem.
With the Aztecs up 6-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Wisneski secured the 8-0 victory when she belted a two-run home run to center field.
Freshman Kelsey Jo O’Brien started for Colorado State in the circle, tossing four innings before being relieved by senior Rebecca Penland.
Senior Robyn Mask finished the game 2-for-2 with two singles while Stem and sophomore Christine Thomsen each tallied a single for the Rams.
Colorado State (22-13, 0-2 MWC) will look for revenge Sunday at 2 p.m. MT against San Diego State live on CBS College Sports.
