FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Rams picked up their first victory against the University of Great Falls Lady Argos Saturday, thanks in part to a solid outing by starting pitcher Kelsey Jo O’Brien. O’Brien gave up three hits and recorded nine strikeouts over six innings.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the fourth inning, when freshman Emily Pohl singled to score sophomore Brianna Donahue from second. Freshman Alexa Cash later doubled to score freshman Kendal Butterfield.
The Rams added another run in the fifth and broke it open in the sixth, scoring five runs, to end the game, 8-0, in six innings.
Exhibition play will resume tomorrow at 9 a.m. when the Rams take on Metro State, Black Hills State and Regis University.
