COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Colorado State outside hitter Jasmine Hanna has been named Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.
The honor is the first weekly award in Hanna’s career. The Queen Creek, Arizona, native led the Rams with 3.43 kills per set last week, totaling 12 in each match. The 6-foot-1 attacker helped lead CSU to wins at New Mexico and at UNLV, making the Rams the only unbeaten team remaining in the league.
Hanna also hit over .400 in each match, including a .462 mark at the previously-unbeaten Rebels. She had only one attack error on the week on 52 attempts. Hanna starred in Las Vegas, registering 12 kills with no errors while also adding 4 block assists and a pair of digs.
CSU boasts two of the last three players to earn MW Offensive Player of the Week recognition – freshman setter Katie Oleksak earned the same honor on Sept. 26.
Hanna was one of multiple efficient attackers for the Rams last week, as CSU hit. 379 as a team over the two matches. The Rams now rank eighth in the nation in team hitting percentage.
CSU has won 65 of its last 67 matches and 29 in a row. The Rams have not lost a MW match since Nov. 1, 2014. CSU hosts Nevada on Thursday (7 p.m.) and San Diego State on Saturday (1 p.m.) at Moby Arena. Tickets can be purchased at CSURams.com/tickets.
