2015 In Review -- Alex Reid

Senior outside hitter Alex Reid joined the CSU volleyball team prior to the 2015 season after transferring from Long Beach State. The Aurora-native didn't take long to impact the team, and her impact on and off the court was felt immediately.
Reid's leadership and work ethic influenced the team from day one, and she ended the season receiving the Debbie Murphy Most Inspirational Player award, as voted on by her teammates.
In addition, Reid was named the Mountain West Newcomer of the Year and landed a spot on the All-Mountain West team as well.
Reid led the team with 3.21 kills per set, ranking fifth in the Mountain West. The six-rotation player proved to be critical defensively as well, posting 2.85 digs per set, good for second on the team.
She registered 20-plus kills twice, including a career-best 21 in CSU's five-set win over Boise State on Sept. 26. Her performance that week garnered her MW Player of the Week honors.
The Grandview graduate also had the second-most double-doubles on the team with nine, and had 10 or more kills in 19 matches (including the final eight matches of the season). Reid also excelled in serve-receive, with her .956 serve percentage being fourth-best in program history and her .966 reception percentage ranking seventh all-time.
Reid sat down with Travis Green of CSU Athletics during the season to talk about her decision to transfer to CSU after spending three years going to school out of state.
