Gamboa, Muzik named to NFCA All-Region Team

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Two members of the Colorado State softball team earned all-region honors announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Thursday. Sophomore Corina Gamboa and junior Sarah Muzik were both named to the third-team all-region for the first time in their careers.
 
Muzik has been vital to Colorado State on both sides of the ball this season. She leads the team with a .405 batting average and in hits with 66. The junior also has scored 41 runs, while recording seven doubles, three triples and 15 RBI. While on the bases, she's swiped 15 bags while getting caught just four times.
 
Gamboa has irrupted at the plate this season as a sophomore. So far this season she is batting .338 with 54 hits and a team high 12 doubles. She also leads the team with eight home runs, 34 RBI and slugging .575.  
 
Colorado State is in the midst of its first postseason appearance since 2003. The Rams will face South Dakota State in the second round of the loser's bracket on Thursday night at 6 p.m. MT on the campus of host Northern Colorado.
