Rams Capture Program’s Single-Season Win Record

CSU Defeats AF 1-0, Gets Seventh Win of Season
USAFA, Colo. – Continuing to rewrite the record books, the Colorado State women's soccer team defeated Air Force 1-0 Sunday afternoon to notch its seventh win of the season – the most in the program's seven years.
The Rams improved to 7-4-1 overall and 2-2 within the Mountain West, while Air Force dropped to 7-3-1 and 2-2 in the conference.
The battery for the latest CSU win involved senior forward Caeley Lordemann, junior forward Taylor Steinke, and the stingy Ram defense that kept the Falcons at bay throughout.
Offensively, the Rams scored off a free kick in the 41st minute on a heads up play from Lordemann and Steinke. First, Lordemann drew a foul right outside the box to prompt the free kick. During the set up, Steinke went unnoticed by the Falcons off to the side, Lordemann slipped it to her and Steinke placed it into the net for her first 2019 goal.
At the half, Colorado State led 1-0. In the box score, Air Force led in shots 4-3, but CSU had two on goal, including the score.
In the second half, CSU kept on the pressure, outshooting AF 5-4 and controlling possession. The Falcons did have a few last chances, however CSU goal keeper Gabi McDonald was there for a save in the 85th minute.
Colorado State returns home for four-straight home games, starting with Fresno State Friday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m.

Game Winner for Steinke
-The junior forward scored her first goal of the season and fifth all time as a Ram. She had two game winners last season. Today's GW gives her three in her CSU career.
