#25STRONG
During the 2019 season, the Colorado State softball team will continuously recognize it being #25Strong, referring to 25 years since being reinstated as a sport at Colorado State. The Rams' softball program began in 1976, but did not compete during the 1993 season due to the program being cut at the end of the 1992 season. Colorado State reinstated the softball program and competed in 1994.

STRONG START
Colorado State will look to start its season strong again, just like a season ago, when it won its 1st seven games to post its best start since the 1997 season when the team started 8-0. The Rams made its 1st NCAA Tournament appearance in 1997 after winning its third conference championship.

LAST TIME OUT
Colorado State began the 2019 season at the Bobcat Classic posting a 3-1 record. Due to weather conditions in San Marcos, Texas the Rams had to cancel their game against North Dakota State and open the season against host Texas State.

CSU dropped the opener, but finish the week on a winning streak with victories over Abilene Christian twice and UTSA.

The Rams finished the 2018 season with a 27-23 overall record and 10-14 mark in the Mountain West, finishing 7th in the standings. Colorado State received a bid from the National Invitational Softball Championships (NISC) and made its 1st postseason appearance since the 2003 season. CSU made it to the second round of postseason play before suffering a loss to South Dakota State, in Greeley, Colo.

SEASON OPENING RECORDS
Colorado State began the season at the Bobcat Classic last weekend, dropping its opener to Texas State. Head Coach Jen Fisher is now 4-5 in season openers and the Rams are 6-13 in openers since 2003.
