Rams Head to Border War 2.0, Finish Home Schedule

Colorado State splits the week heading to Wyoming for the Border War before finishing the home schedule this weekend play Fresno State on Saturday.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State has two weeks left of the regular season and will split matches this week at home. The Rams will head north for the second edition of the Border War this season against Wyoming on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. CSU will return home this weekend and host Fresno State in the final home match of the season on Saturday at 12 p.m. Colorado State will recognized its two graduating seniors prior to the first serve and fans are encouraged to wear Green.

Rams at a Glance
» Colorado State continued Mountain West action last week at home, picking up another pair of sweeps against Nevada and San Jose State. The Rams extended their home winning streak to eight-consecutive matches and has yet to drop a set in Moby Arena against a Mountain West opponent.
» Following the split weekend, the Rams will finish the season on the road at Utah State and Boise State.
» CSU has cruised past 10 of its 14 conference opponents, including recording a sweep in each of the eight conference matches at home and hold a 38-9 set mark in Mountain West matches.
» The Rams have played four five-set matches this season, with each coming down to the final two points.
» Colorado State has gathered four Mountain West weekly awards so far this season -- sophomore outside Kennedy Stanford earned Offensive Player of the Week and senior libero Alexa Roumeliotis earned Defensive Player of the Week three times, including this past week.
» In the Rams 23 matches played this season, 24 sets have been decided by two points – with 14 falling in favor of CSU. In Mountain West action, the Rams are 8-2 in those set scenarios.

Scouting Wyoming
» Wyoming is 6-8 in the Mountain West, sitting 8th in the standings after splitting matches against San Jose State and Nevada last week.
» Since the Rams first defeated the Cowgirls earlier this season, Wyoming is 6-5.
» Wyoming started Mountain West play on a four-match skid, which included three sweeps with one from Colorado State. Since, the Cowgirls have been swept just once, while sweeping five opponents.
» Before Wyoming's loss to San Jose State on Thursday, the Cowgirls had swept their last three home matches, including a clean sheet against New Mexico and San Diego State.
» Libero Erika Jones is third in Mountain West matches in digs with a 4.14 average, just behind CSU libero Alexa Roumeliotis who is averaging 4.23.

Scouting Fresno State
» Fresno State carries an 11-11 overall record and is 7-7 in the Mountain West entering the week.
» The Bulldogs will play at Wyoming on Thursday night before coming to Fort Collins.
» Fresno State is one of the two teams to hand Colorado State a loss in conference play this season. The Bulldogs took down the Rams on Sept. 30 in Fresno.
» Since the win against CSU, the Bulldogs are 5-6 with wins against Boise State and Wyoming.

» The Rams swept the Cowgirls earlier this season while in Moby Arena on Sept. 28. The Rams improved their series record against Wyoming to 69-22 overall and 36-8 in Moby Arena, including winning the last 24 matches at home. Annie Sullivan led the Rams' attack with 14 kills, while hitting .387. Both Alexa Roumeliotis and Alyssa Bert reached double-figure digs with 14 and 10, respectfully. CSU finished the match with five aces and hitting .298 and keeping Wyoming to .147.

» Fresno State handed Colorado State its first loss in Mountain West play on Sept. 30 in Fresno. The Rams started conference play with three-consecutive sweeps before the Bulldogs spoiled the run. CSU dropped the first two sets against FSU and was looking for a reverse sweep before it was called for an overlap on match-point in the fourth - the first time called in many years. Jacqi Van Liefde floored 10 kills, while freshman Maddy McCormick burned the redshirt and added 10 kills as well.
