Colorado State held a late lead, but dropped the rubber match by a walk-off by the Wolf Pack.
RENO, Nev. – The Colorado State softball team took the lead late in the eighth inning, but Nevada responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning, including hitting a walk-off single to steal the series against the Rams.

Tara Shadowen led Colorado State's offense, registering two hits in the loss, both of which were doubles. Julia Cabral was tagged with the loss after throwing the whole game allowing four earned runs and stuck out three batters.

Nevada put the first runs on the board in the first and third innings to lead 2-0. Colorado State pushed a pair of runs across in the top of the fourth after a pair of hits and an error by the Wolf Pack tied the game at 2-2. The Rams started the frame with back-to-back hits by Corina Gamboa and Tara Shadowen, including her first double of the game. Danielle Serna hit a deep fly ball to left field, which put her at second after the fielder failed to make the play and scored a run. Two batters later, Ashley York hit a sac fly to right to score the tying run.

Both teams moved quickly through the lineups, as they combined for two hits over the next 3.5 innings to force extra innings. Colorado State put a runner on base with two outs after another Wolf Pack error. Tara Shadowen gave the Rams the lead after her second double of the game scored Corina Gamboa. Nevada responded in the bottom of the inning, leading off with a home run to tie the game at 3-3. After a walk and a sacrifice hit put the runner in scoring position, a single to center gave the Wolf Pack the walk-off victory.
