Rams Close Home Slate, Celebrate Seniors

Colorado State will finish its home schedule this weekend hosting San Diego State and will celebrate its graduating seniors on Sunday pregame.
THIS WEEK
Colorado State will finish its home schedule this weekend, as it hosts San Diego State for a three-game series starting Saturday afternoon at Ram Field. Saturday will feature a doubleheader with the first pitched schedule for 12 p.m., MT followed by game two. The series will finish Sunday with a single game at 12 p.m., MT and the Rams will recognize the graduating senior pregame. All three game will be streamed on the Mountain West Network.

LAST TIME OUT
The Rams were on the road at Boise State last weekend, picking up their first series win at the Broncos for the first time in program history. Colorado State had taken the series against the Broncos twice before – both at Ram Field. The Rams dropped the first contest after coming back as the Broncos hit a walk off in the eighth inning. Colorado State responded with a 5-1 victory in game two before a dominating 10-2 win in the finale in six innings. Julia Cabral earned her second-consecutive win in the finale, while freshman Sydney Hornbuckle earned her first collegiate win in game two.

AGAINST THE AZTECS
The Rams are 39-64 overall against San Diego State, which also includes a 22-53 mark in Mountain West action. The series is one of the oldest for Colorado State, dating back to 1987 and played every year since 1991 – with the exception of 1993 when the program was eliminated. CSU took the last series in 2019 in Fort Collins and have taken three of the last four series back to 2016. The Rams have won at least one game in each series since being swept in 2012.

SDSU started league play, dropping its first three series, but since have taken every series including a sweep against New Mexico last weekend. The Aztecs posted a 15-5 mark in non-conference play, starting the season with five-consecutive wins before facing then-No. 1 UCLA and then-No. 5/6 Washington.
