Rams Finish Regular Season, Host Senior Day Saturday

Colorado State will host the final series of the regular season, facing Boise State starting on Thursday afternoon.
THIS WEEK
The Rams finish the regular season hosting Boise State for a three-game series starting on Thursday, May 12. Games one and two are schedule for Thursday and Friday starting at 4:00 p.m., MT. The series and regular season finale will be on Saturday starting at noon. CSU will honor is three graduating seniors prior to the first pitch on Saturday. The series will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and Evoca, while Saturday's game will also be live on Denver Local 3.

Colorado State comes into the weekend after dropping the UNLV series 1-2 last weekend in Las Vegas. The Rams snapped a 10-game losing streak against Mountain West opponents to record it's first MW road win of the season in game two, while also handing the Rebels their biggest defeat of the season, 12-4.

The Rams offense exploded in the home series against Nevada. Over the series, the Rams scored 16 runs twice and nine runs to complete the sweep, leading to the Rams outscoring Nevada 41-18 for the weekend. At Ram Field this season, Colorado State has outscored their opponents 113-68 and in conference play the Rams have outscored opponents 75-39. The Rams' offense has put up double figures three times at home this season, while opponents have yet to do so. Overall, CSU is 13-0 when scoring eight-or-more runs

The Rams come into the final home weekend with all three home Mountain West series wins. The latest sweep against Nevada pushed the Rams to an 8-1 record at Ram Field in conference play. CSU has put up five or more runs in each of the conference victories at home this season.

Colorado State has been in a lot of close games and has a 4-16 record in contests decided by two or fewer runs. In the non-conference slate, the Rams were on the wrong side nine times. Since the start of Mountain West play, CSU has been in five games which came down to just needing a timely hit. In last weekend's series at the UNLV, the Rams came up just short in the opener. All three games against San Jose State were decided by two or fewer runs with the Rams producing a series sweep and the lone loss in the series against New Mexico.

Ashley York has hit a team- and Mountain West-leading six triples this season. Her 0.14 average triples per game total ranks sixth in the country along with her total sits at No. 8. As a team the Rams have totaled 12 triples – additional two by Hailey Smith and Peyton Allen and one from Maya Matsubara and Ashley Michelena – while allowing just four.

The Rams are third in the conference in stolen bases as they have swiped 26 in 29 attempts. Ashley York leads Colorado State with 10 in 11 attempts, which places her tied for second in the Mountain West. Allen and Makenna McVay are tied for 10 in the conference with four apiece.

Boise State sits in second in the Mountain West standing, just two games behind San Diego State, with a 18-3 league mark and 37-10 overall. The Broncos will also bring their nine-game winning streak to Ram Field after sweeping New Mexico last weekend for the fifth series sweep in conference action.

BSU has a handful of players sitting above a .300 batting average, led by Alycia Flores who is at a .382 mark – seventh in the Mountain West. Kelsey Hall is third in the league slugging .770 and is tied for fifth with teammate Kelsey Lalor with 12 homers. This will be the first series played in Fort Collins since the 2018 season when the Rams got swept. The Rams will look for their first victory against the Broncos at Ram Field since the 2016 season.
