Rams Earn USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

Colorado State earned its sixth consecutive award
LEXINGTON, Ky. – The United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced that the Colorado State volleyball team has earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 season. The Rams are one of 215 of Division I schools to earn the award. The Rams are one of seven Mountain West Conference schools (Boise State, Fresno State, New Mexico, San Jose State, UNLV, Wyoming) to earn the award.

A total 1,213 teams – all levels of volleyball – earned the AVCA Team Academic Award. The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

The AVCA, an educationally based nonprofit headquartered in Lexington, KY, is the largest and most diverse volleyball coaches' association in the world. With a broad mandate to develop the sport, the AVCA provides leadership, recognition, advocacy, and professional development opportunities to over 8,000 volleyball coaches.
