Colorado State stays on the road for another game this week.
SALT LAKE CITY - Colorado State (1-1) split its two-game, season-opening road swing in Utah as they fell 3-0 to the host Utah Utes (1-0-1) on Sunday.
After some late-match heroics on Thursday pushed the Rams to a victory over Utah Tech, they were unable to find the same consistency on offense to threaten their neighbors to the east. Utah tallied 16 shots including seven on goal to Colorado State's four, a big driver that resulted in a 2-0 halftime deficit for the visitors.
The Rams were able to find some spacing in the second half with shots coming from Izzy Wildermuth, Kaitlyn Abrams, and Aleyse Evers overall, but Utah managed to maintain the clean sheet.
