GAME NOTES
- Colorado State heads to UNLV to take on one of the nation's hottest teams in UNLV. The Rebels are off to a 5-1 start, their best start since the 1984 season.
- It's homecoming in Las Vegas, marking the third time this season Colorado State has served as the homecoming opponent (Middle Tennessee, Utah State)
- The trip to Las Vegas is the first for the program since 2016, the longest stretch between trips to a conference opponent for Colorado State.
- Jay Norvell is no stranger to UNLV, having tallied a 4-1 mark against them during his time at rival Nevada. He also recorded the first collegiate win inside Allegiant Stadium when Nevada defeated UNLV 37-19 on Oct. 31, 2020.
- A win would give Colorado State its 4th victory at its earliest mark since 2017 when Colorado State moved to 4-2 on Oct. 7 with a win over Utah State.
- The 2023 Rams have been dramatically improved on offense in nearly every major category including Total Offense, Passing Offense, Scoring Offense, and Sacks Allowed, ranking in the Top 5 in terms of improvement year-over-year.
- The Rams concluded the non-conference portion of their schedule with a 2-2 mark for the first time since 2017, the last season the program was bowl eligible.
- Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi: Earned a bevy of national awards on Monday … No. 4 nationally in Passing Yards per Game (323.7) … Has tallied the most 300-yard passing games by a CSU freshman
- Tory Horton: Ranks No. 6 nationally in Receiving Yards per Game (115.0) and No. 2 in Receptions per game (9.7) – both lead the MW.
- Mohamed Kamara: Leads the nation in total sacks (9.5) and sacks per game (1.9) … Will move into a tie for 2nd in program history for a career with 1.5 more sacks … The career record stands at 33.0
- Dallin Holker: Leads all tight ends nationally in Receiving Yards per Game (82.8) and Receptions per Game (6.5) … No. 2 in yards after catch, receiving touchdowns, total receptions, and total receiving yards
- Team Offense: Currently the nation's fourth-most improved offense compared to 2022 … The passing offense and scoring offense are the nation's 2nd most-improved overall … They are also the most improved in sacks allowed … Defensively, the Rams are No. 13 nationally in sacks per game and No. 17 in turnovers gained
