CSU hosts San Jose State, then Nevada
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The second week of conference play has the Rams back at home.
Â
Colorado State's women's tennis hosts San Jose State on Saturday and Nevada on Sunday, both matches slated for 2 p.m. at the CSU Tennis Complex. There will be live stats (Password: GoRam$) and live coverage available for both.
Â
"We are very excited to return home and host a few conference teams," head coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "It makes a big difference to be able to play in front of friends and family."
Â
The Spartans are 7-6 overall this year and 2-0 in conference play. Historically the Rams are 3-1 with SJSU and last year these two teams met twice, CSU won 4-3 and 4-0.
Â
"SJSU and Nevada are known to fight, and we are up to the challenge," Tran said.
Â
Sunday is the designated State Pride match for the Rams. The Wolf Pack are 6-4 overall and 1-1 in conference. Nevada and CSU saw each other once in the conference tournament in 2019 during the opening round, the Rams pulling away 4-1. Last season during conference play, the Rams won 4-0 and head-to-head historically, the Rams are 3-2 with Nevada.
Â
"We are eager to have these opportunities to showcase our tennis with conference matches," Tran said. "This year, every single team in the Mountain West is tough so our job is to prepare and be ready when the moments come."
