What you need to know
- Originally supposed to be a three-game series, both the Rams and the Cyclones agreed to add another game to the weekend schedule as Iowa State has seen a lot of weather cancelations so far this season.
- The Rams now play a doubleheader on both Friday and Saturday in Ames to make the weekend a four-game series over two days.
- Games will begin at 1 p.m. mountain time Friday with game two happening at approximately 3:30 p.m. Saturday's games are set to begin at 11 a.m. with the series finale game beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m.
- All four games will be streamed on ESPN+.
Scouting the Cyclones
- Sitting at 16-25 overall and 2-10 in the competitive Big 12 conference, Iowa State will look to ride a three-game win streak into its series with the Rams and continue momentum towards the end of the season.
- Three out of four of Iowa State's conference opponents played so far this season are currently ranked in the top ten nationally, including the back-to-back reigning national champion Oklahoma Sooners.
- Colorado State is 2-4 overall against Iowa State with this weekend serving as the first time the Rams have ever played in Ames.
Game Notes
- Last week, the Rams competed in two two-game conference series, splitting both. Colorado State won one of two games in a doubleheader with Utah State last Wednesday in Fort Collins before traveling to New Mexico where they took game one over the Lobos before dropping game two Saturday.

- Senior pitcher Julia Cabral picked up both wins for the Rams with a ERA of 0.00 through 7.2 innings pitched on the week. Through both appearances she struck out three while only allowing five total hits.
- Junior Molly Gates hit her third home run of the season against New Mexico as the outfielder currently sits seventh in the conference in batting average at .364.
