Colorado State welcomes Aine Doty and Brielle Warren to the Ramily

FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The Colorado State volleyball team and Head Coach Emily Kohan announced Thursday the addition of Aine Doty and Brielle Warren to the 2024 roster. Doty transfers into Colorado State with two years of eligibility from the University of Idaho as a libero/defensive specialist. Warren transfers into Colorado State with three years of eligibility from Purdue University as an outside hitter.

Doty, originally from Colorado Springs, appeared in 28 matches her freshman season with the Vandals and 26 matches in 2023. She recorded double-digit digs in 23 of those 26 matches this last season at libero. Averaging 4.68 digs per set, she led the Big Sky during her sophomore season in 2023.

"It's always great to add quality Colorado-grown players to the roster," Kohan said. "Aine played a huge role at her previous university and joins our team with lots of experience, she will immediately elevate the floor defense and competition in our gym. She was eager to join the team and play in front of her friends and family for her final collegiate years, and the fans equally love local players!"

"I chose Colorado State because I wanted to play for a higher-level team and be challenged, I wanted to be closer to family, and I was looking for coaches who would support me and Colorado State has all of these things," Doty said.

In high school, Doty lettered in volleyball all four years at Doherty High School under head coaches Erin Stone and Jamilla Biglow. She was a two-time 5A Colorado Honorable Mention recipient, once in 2019 and again in 2022. She helped guide Doherty to regionals three times in her career while compiling 814 digs, 1,142 serve receptions, 76 aces and 107 kills during senior season.

Doty has six siblings, including a twin brother, and is the daughter of Lorien Lindstrom and Orian Doty. In her free time, she enjoys playing games with her family, playing both beach and grass volleyball, reading and photography. She intends to major in Business Marketing and Real Estate while at Colorado State.

Warren, originally from College Station, Texas, only appeared in one match over two seasons at Purdue, redshirting her freshman year. She graduated from Fulshear High School in 2022 where she was ranked as the No. 4 recruit in the state of Texas. Warren was named to the 2021 AVCA All-America Watch List and named first-team on the 2021 All-VYPE Public School lost. Training within the USA Volleyball programs, Warren received MVP honors as a freshman during the U15 Junior Olympics and was a member of the 2021 USA Volleyball U19 Summer Training Series.

"We first got to know Brielle during her recruiting process in high school, so she was no stranger to us during the transfer recruitment," Kohan said. "She is extremely physical and has some natural gifts with her athleticism and powerful swing. It was also clear that she believed in our mission to win championships and we love how competitive she is. The addition of Brielle to our already experienced roster adds great depth to the pin position."

"I chose to be at Colorado State because of the strong environment and care the coaches present to each player, the respectable athletes and women the team consists of, the huge support system of this program and the welcoming campus," Warren said. "Most of all, I chose Colorado State to help contribute to the future successes of CSU Volleyball."

Warren has five siblings and is the daughter of Kesha Warren and former NFL defensive lineman Ty Warren. Her older sister Brionna plays softball at South Carolina and Brielle says 'The Warren Family' are her favorite athletes to watch and cheer on. She intends to major in business while at Colorado State and enjoys sewing, painting, knitting, cooking and shopping in her down time.

Both athletes will join the Rams' for their spring training schedule ahead of the 2024 fall season.
