Team Set for Tough Weekend Double

Rams head to Beehive State for a pair of matches
Truly hitting the road for the first time this spring, Colorado State's women's tennis team will not travel far to find a pair of tests this weekend.
Â
The Rams, coming off a 5-2 win over Missouri at home to extend their Fort Collins winning streak to 15 matches, will face BYU on Saturday, then take on Utah the following day. Both matches begin at 11 a.m.
Â
Both teams feature a singles player ranked in the top 100 by ITA, with Utah's Marcela Lopez sitting 59th, BYU's Yujia Huang at No. 100. The two rivals have split a pair of matches this season.
Â
Colorado State has played just one road match this season, which took place in Denver.
Â
"The main challenges for the road trips are facing good teams who are playing where they are most comfortable and in front of their fans. Â We are looking forward to the task in front of us," CSU coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "I believe it's important to go on the road and challenge ourselves in different environments and test our abilities. Â This is where we get better and grow the most."
Â
The Cougars are 5-1 on the season after opening with four consecutive wins, including a 4-1 decision against Missouri. There is live scoring and a live stream for the match.
Â
Utah is 4-2 on the season with a win over rival BYU. The Utes will be on the road playing Denver on Friday before returning home for the dual with Colorado State. There will be a live stream and live scoring available.
Â
The Rams have built their 3-1 season resume amid a series of changes to the doubles lineup this spring, the latest mix-and-match producing a victory over Missouri's 19th-ranked No. 1 team by the pairing of Radka Buzkova and Viktoryia Zhadzinskaya.
Â
Tran has seen her team handle the changes, as well as compete well on days when not everything is working perfectly.Â
Â
"It has been encouraging to see our team have belief in themselves early and know they are capable of not playing their best and still beating good players and teams," Tran said.Â
