FORT COLLINS, Colo. – After a competitive showing at the Lone Star State Invitational last weekend, the Colorado State softball team returns to Fort Collins for its fourth of five non-conference tournaments, ready to play five games on their home field. The Rams are gearing up to take on both Iowa State (7-7) and Manhattan College (0-5).

What You Need to Know

Colorado State will kick off the Colorado Classic with a doubleheader Friday, March 1 with game times set for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. against Iowa State.
This weekend is the first of two non-conference tournaments Colorado State will host in 2024. The Rams Invitational will take place March 8-10 from Ram Field before the Rams begin hosting Mountain West play March 22 against Nevada.
Fans looking to attend the games this weekend will enjoy free admission to Ram Field. Parking will be in the pay-to-park lot Friday afternoon. Parking options will not be available during Saturday's competition due to the Moby Arena lot being sold out ahead of the Colorado State men's basketball game taking place at Moby Arena Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. Fans who plan to attend both softball and basketball events and already have Moby Arena lot parking accommodations will scan their parking pass upon entry Saturday morning. Sunday, fans can enjoy free parking in the Moby Arena lot.
All three matchups against Iowa State will be streamed via the Mountain West Network.

Scouting the Colorado Classic

During the 2023 season, the Rams achieved a 2-2 record against Iowa State in a mid-season series with the Cyclones.
Iowa State currently ranks ninth in the Big 12 in batting average, and tenth in pitching efficiency.
Iowa State's Angeline Allen leads her team with a batting average of .514 and tops the Big 12 with 25 hits.
Manhattan College is entering the weekend with a 0-5 record after opening its season last weekend at the North Florida/Jacksonville University Classic. Its losses come at the hands of Harvard, North Florida and Jacksonville.
The Jaspers come off a 13-35 campaign during the 2023 season.

Game Notes

Reagan Wick had an impressive weekend outing, leading the Rams staff with a 1.54 ERA at the Lone Star State Invitational, including pitching all the way through a heartbreaking extra-inning loss to No. 12 Stanford last Sunday.
Fifth-year senior Peyton Allen had one of her best weekends at the plate in Texas last weekend as the second baseman went 6-11 from the batter's box, good for a .545 average, bumping her up to .237 on the season.
Senior Ashley York totaled two extra base hits in Austin, including a double and a triple as the Texas native went 5-18 from the plate in her return to her home state.
Senior Maya Matsubara remains perfect on defense through three weekends as the shortstop boasts a 1.000 fielding percentage with 19 assists and 16 putouts so far this season.
Fifth-year senior Danielle Serna leads the Rams at the plate with a .326 avg with a slugging percentage of .488.
Last season in Colorado State's four-game series against Iowa State, senior Ashley York blasted two home runs against the Cyclone pitching staff while hitting .333 from the plate through all four games. Hailey Smith and Peyton Allen also hit home runs against Iowa State last season.
