Colorado State drops first game in April to Bulldogs 7-2
FRESNO, Calif. -Â The Colorado State softball team fell to Fresno State on the road Friday night as the Bulldogs outhit the Rams 11 to six en route to a 7-2 final score in favor of Fresno State.

The Bulldogs totaled four extra base hits in the ballgame with two doubles, a triple and a home run from Juliana Wilson, putting up a crooked number in three out of six frames against the Rams.

Offensively, the Rams were able to respond with one run in the third and another in the fourth, but were unable to capitalize on base runners, leaving six runners on base throughout the game.

Colorado State's run in the third inning came off the bat of Maya Matsubara who continues to stay hot as the conference's leader in batting average. An RBI double from Matsubara scored Brooke Bohlender in the third.

In the fourth, Colorado State's second run came off the bat of freshman Jailey Wilson who finished the day two-for-two from the plate including an RBI single that scored Molly Gates.

Colorado State saw the pitching duo of Sydney Hornbuckle and Giselle Bentley in the circle throughout the day. Each boasted a strikeout while Hornbuckle took the loss before Bentley entered to go two innings.

The loss snaps a seven-game win streak for the Rams where six out of the seven games were decided in run-rule fashion. Colorado State will look to rally back in game two set for Saturday at 3 p.m.
