Rams Return Home For Single Match

Team fresh for Front Range rival

FORT COLLINS - After an 11-day break Colorado State's women's soccer team returns home for a match against Denver at the CSU Soccer Field. 
 
After a trip down south followed by a break, the Rams are now 3-2-1. During the Texas two-step, the Rams extended their win streak to three matches before falling to UTSA to close the swing. The extended break for the team came after playing three matches in the course of a week.
 
Colorado State will host two more non-conference matches in eight days before heading into the Mountain West portion of the schedule.
 
Thursday's match (7 p.m.) will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network. Live scoring is also available. 
 
Series History:

  • The Rams and Pioneers have faced each other eight times, with the series even at 3-3-2.
  • The two faced off last year in Denver, resulting in a 1-all tie.
  • Four of the eight matchups have pushed into overtime or double overtime. 
 
Quick Kicks:
  • Freshman Kaja Dionne scored her first career goal against Texas State, becoming the fifth Ram to find the net this season.
  • Kenady Leighton, who has started every match of her career, still stands second in games started with 71 and is tied for fourth in career games played. She remains second in career minutes with 6,216.
  • Goalie Shayna Ross recorded six of her 15 saves this season against Texas State. 
 
What's Ahead:
  • Colorado State will take on Omaha at home on Sept. 20, at 7 p.m.
