Wilson Named to 2025 Mountain West Preseason Team

Rams predicted to finish sixth in conference play
FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Colorado State sophomore Jailey Wilson was named to the 2025 Mountain West Preseason Team on Thursday, the league office announced.
Wilson was one of four sophomores named to the preseason team after a strong freshman season for the Rams. During the 2024 season, she was named to the All-Mountain West Second-Team after posting a .358 batting average, which ranked 20th overall in the conference. Wilson also added 19 hits, 10 runs scored and four home runs, which ranked 12th in the conference. The right-handed power-hitter finished the conference season slugging a .642, which also ranked 12th in the conference.Â
Three of Wilson's four home runs came in the same game against Utah State. April 14th.Â
Defensively, Wilson led the team and ranked sixth in the Mountain West with 125 putouts at first base. She also recorded six double plays good for second in the MW and finished the season with a .992 fielding percentage.Â
Wilson was named the Freshman of the Week during the week of February 12 after helping the Rams to a 4-1 weekend at the Torero Classic. She ended the weekend with a .571 batting average and contributed three extra-base hits, two of which were back-to-back home runs.
The MW Preseason Polls also predict that Colorado State will finish sixth in conference with San Diego State being the pre-season favorite.
Colorado State is set to kick off its 2025 spring season at the New Mexico State Invitational in Las Cruces, New Mexico against UC Santa Barbara February 7 at 10:30 am. The Rams will go on to start conference play with their first game against UNLV at home on March 14 at 4 pm.
