UNLV Win Leads to Two Awards for the Rams

Willson and Carlson repeat as Mountain West award winners
For another week of Mountain West honors, Colorado State had two players recognized, as sophomore goalkeeper Gray Willson and freshman Piper Carlson earned awards following the Rams' 1-0 home win over UNLV in Week 8.
Defensive Player of the Week: Gray Willson
Willson earned her second Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week honor this season after leading Colorado State to a 1-0 shutout victory over UNLV. The sophomore goalkeeper played all 90 minutes and recorded four saves to secure her fifth shutout of the year.
Freshman Player of the Week: Piper Carlson
Carlson claimed her second Mountain West Freshman of the Week award after anchoring CSU's defense in the win over UNLV. The freshman played the full 90 minutes on the back line, helping limit UNLV to four total shots on goal and preserve the shutout. She has started and played in every match for Colorado State this season.
Colorado State returns home for two conference matchups at the CSU Soccer Field, hosting Colorado College on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 4 p.m. and Air Force on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. for Senior Night.
