Colorado State beats Aggies in extra innings to start the day
Colorado State – 8, UC Davis – 6
- The Rams defeated the Aggies in their first extra-innings game of the season, getting the win thanks to three home runs in the ball game.
- Jailey Wilson led the Rams offensively, hitting two home runs over the Aggies. She opened up the scoring with a solo shot to center field in the second innings before regaining the lead for the Rams in the fifth inning with a three-run home run to right center. Wilson has six total games where she has hit a home run for Colorado State in her career, three of them are multi-home run games.
- Heading into extra innings tied at five, it was Autumn Rutherford that broke the tie for the Rams, batting in Kaylynn English with an infield single. Rutherford totaled two RBI on the game, going 2-5. English scored two of the eight runs for the Rams, going 2-3 herself.
- Now with the lead in the top of the eighth, senior Jordan West launched just the second home run of her career to seal the game for the Rams with two more insurance runs.
- Reagan Wick pitched all eight innings for Colorado State, starting the first three without allowing a hit including striking out the side in the second innings. She recorded a career-high 11 strikeouts in the win over the Aggies throwing 112 pitches in the eight-inning game.
- Brooke Bohlender was on the other end of those Wick strikeouts, recording 11 putouts in the game while also going 3-5 from the plate and scoring a run for Colorado State.
No. 20 Stanford - 10, Colorado State – 2
- The Rams fell to No. 20 Stanford in five innings after jumping out to a 2-0 lead, but allowing 10 unanswered runs.
- Colorado State plated its first run in the second inning off a Clarissa Castillo single, scoring Lauren Stucky from second base.
- The second run for the Rams came off the bat of Carolina Buffaloe who put the ball in play, scoring Kaylynn English.
- Offensively the Rams were led by English who went 2-2 with a stolen base. Autumn Rutherford also led off the game with a double.
