Pitching duel in San Jose shuts out the Rams

SAN JOSE  – The Colorado State softball team fell to the San Jose State Spartans in game one of their second Mountain West series of the season. The pitching duel resulted in a 1-0 win for the Spartans.
 
Game 1 | San Jose State – 1, Colorado State - 0
  • In a game where taking advantage of limited offense, the Rams were unable put up a run while the Spartans added one unearned run in the bottom of the third for the game winner.
  • In the circle for the Rams, Reagan Wick through a one run game, her only run allowed unearned from the Spartans while limiting them to four hits and totaling eight strikeouts.
  • On the other side it was Mia Reynolds for San Jose State who threw the shutout only allowing two hits with eight strikeouts herself.
  • Brooke Bohlender recorded both hits for the Rams going 2-3 while Jailey Wilson and Lauren Stucky also reached base drawing two walks each.
  • Defensively, Jordan West led the Rams with four assists.
 
Up Next: Colorado State will continue its series in San Jose with game two against the Spartans Saturday at 4 p.m.
