Green Out planned for Sunday home match vs. Minnesota
Competing through every match, intensity remains high as endurance becomes essential.
Â
The Colorado State women's tennis team faces a demanding three-day stretch beginning Friday, Feb. 6, when the Rams travel to Laramie, Wyo., for a 12 p.m. matchup against Idaho. Action continues Saturday as the team heads to Denver to take on Denver at 4 p.m., marking the second consecutive road match of the weekend.
Â
The run concludes on Sunday with Colorado State returning home for a Green Out match with Minnesota at Genesis Health Club in Fort Collins at 11:30 a.m. These three matches will test the team's depth, consistency, and endurance across multiple locations. The match will be live-streamed with live scoring.
Â
With a challenge ahead, the Rams are embracing a demanding as an opportunity. With several matches packed into a short window, the focus will be on translating preseason work into competitive results while maintaining energy across each day.
Â
"This weekend will be a really good test for us and a great opportunity to get a lot of quality match play," coach Mai-Ly Tran said. "We've trained with intent and are excited to see how the preparation shows up in competition. It's important that our entire roster is ready to contribute, and this stretch will give us a good sense of where we measure up and what we need to continue improving as the season progresses."
Â
The Vandals are 2-3 in the early going of the dual season. The Pioneers are 3-0 to start the season, also owning a win over Seattle, with Louise Wikander ranked 125th in singles.
Minnesota is currently 4-0 and will face Wyoming the day before. The Gophers' Aiva Schmitz is ranked 117th nationally in singles.
Â
Â
"This format mirrors our fall tournaments, so our players are confident in how to prepare and execute each day," Tran said. "The dual format elevates the competitive environment, bringing added intensity, accountability, and energy that pushes our team to compete together. Our focus is on getting better every match and discovering this team's potential as we build toward the conference season."
