Louie Addazio was named Colorado State’s offensive line coach as part of Steve Addazio’s initial coaching staff in January 2020.
Addazio comes to Fort Collins after a season coaching the tight ends at Bowling Green under head coach Scot Loeffler. In his lone season at BGSU, Addazio helped develop "A" tight end Quinton Morris into an all-conference performer who led the Falcons in every major receiving category with 55 receptions, 649 yards, and four touchdowns. Following the year, Morris was named to the All-MAC second team, the only all-conference performer on BGSU's offense. Graduate transfer tight end Austin Dorris also enjoyed a career season for the Falcons as well, grabbing 14 passes for 127 and starting all 12 games for Bowling Green.
Prior to going to Bowling Green, Addazio spent three seasons (2016-18) at Ohio State including the final two as a graduate assistant with the offensive line under head coach Urban Meyer. During that span, the Buckeyes won a pair of Big Ten Conference championships, a Cotton Bowl victory (2017) over Wisconsin, and a Rose Bowl victory (2018) over Washington. The Buckeyes also appeared in the 2016 College Football Playoff semifinals.
During that three year run at OSU, Addazio worked with five offensive lineman drafted into the NFL including first rounder Billy Price (2018, Cincinnati), third rounder Pat Elflein (2017, Minnesota), fourth rounder Michael Jordan (2019, Cincinnati), fifth rounder Jamarco Jones (2018, Seattle) and sixth rounder Isaiah Prince (2019, Miami). Price and Elflein were back-to-back winners of the Rimington Trophy, given to the nation's top center, and five offensive linemen earned All-Big Ten First Team honors.
Before his coaching career began, Addazio was a three-year letterman at tight end for Boston College (2013-15). Over his career, he appeared in 33 games and started in nine as a senior in 2015 for the Eagles. He began his playing career at Syracuse in 2011.
