Fort Collins, Colo. - For the second time in 3 games, Colorado State University will have an overflow crowd for a football game.
Athletics officials said Friday that all reserved seats for the Rams' Homecoming Game Saturday against Fresno State have been sold. Ticket Manager Sharon Rady said any unused student tickets that remain at the end of the day will go on sale Saturday at the stadium ($20).
Saturday's game will be the second overflow crowd of the year for Colorado State. The Rams, 2-3 on the season, face a 3-2 Fresno State team that beat Portland State last week.
Colorado State has drawn 89,338 fans to three home dates thus far, a 29,774 per game average. Saturday's attendance figures to be over-capacity in the 30,000-seat stadium. Colorado State drew 31,610 fans for a game with Miami (Ohio) two weeks ago.
Colorado State announced plans last spring for a stadium expansion and renovation plan that will begin in 2004 and be completed in time for the 2005 season.
Saturday's game begins at 1 p.m. (no local t.v.; radio: Colorado State Sports Network) at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.
Following Saturday's game, the Rams are on the road at BYU, playing on ESPN2 Thursday night at 8 p.m. in Provo, Utah. A week later, Colorado State plays a second straight Thursday night game, facing Air Force, at 8 p.m. That game will also be telecast by ESPN2.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame Game against AFA are moving briskly as well, Rady said.
