Rams Looking For Friendly Faces in San Francisco

When Colorado State University's football team received its 5th straight bowl invitation, Rams' coach Sonny Lubick couldn't have picked a better spot, he said.

Lubick's team will face Boston College in the second annual Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl Dec. 31 at Pacific Bell Park.

Lubick said California remains one of the program's prime recruiting areas, and with nearly half of the current roster from the state, it provides student-athletes and their families a great bowl destination.

Plus, said Lubick, the game will continue to enhance Colorado State's national image, as well as that of the entire university.

Lubick and school officials are hoping the success of the Rams is reflected in ticket sales and support.

Tickets to the game or donations to the school's bowl efforts are available by calling 491-RAMS, 1-800-491-RAMS, or at CSUBOWL.com. Tickets are also available at all King Soopers and City Market grocery store locations throughout the state of Colorado.

The football squad returns to the practice field Thursday as Coach Sonny Lubick's team continues preparations for the team's Dec. 31 Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl against Boston College.

Lubick said he would put his team through a two-hour workout Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Thursday's workout begins at 3:30, while the weekend workouts are scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
