Football Forced Indoors

Colorado State University?s football team put the finishing touches for preparation for Wednesday night?s Diamond Walnut San Francisco bowl in an unusual way. With heavy rain showers hammering the bay area ? instead of working out at a local junior college ? Lubick and the team practiced for two hours in the ballroom of the Rams San Francisco hotel headquarters.

The Rams went through drills on a carpeted area 60 yards long and 40 yards wide. It was the last major workout for the team prior to the game.

Tuesday, CSU will hold a brief walk through at Pac Bell Stadium, then plays Boston College Wednesday night. Kickoff time is 7:30 p.m. PST/8:30 p.m. MST on ESPN2.

The Rams and Eagles are both 7-5 heading into the game. Rams Coach Sonny Lubick thinks the contest is a big one against a BCS member school.

?I think the players understand the importance of the game,? said Lubick. ?We need to go out, play hard, and do the things we can do. Their running game will be a major challenge. They are balanced and can also throw the ball. Special teams will be huge. We have been consistent all year. We need to be solid.?
