Fort Collins, Colo. - Colorado State University offensive center Mark Dreyer is one of the preseason candidates for the Dave Rimington Trophy, presented at the conclusion of the 2003 season to the nation's most outstanding center.

Dreyer is a six-foot, four-inch, 275-pound senior from Brighton, Colo., who earned second-team All-Mountain West Conference honors in 2002.

The Rimington Trophy recipient is determined by a consensus of four All-America teams including: The Walter Camp Football Foundation, America Football Coaches Association, Football Writers Association of America, and "The Sporting News."

The trophy is presented by Canon, USA and Black & Decker. The award is named for Dave Rimington, a two-time All-American and Outland Trophy winner in 1981 and '82.

Dreyer and his teammates return to the practice field Friday for a pair of workouts in preparation for a situational scrimmage Saturday morning.

Rams' coach Sonny Lubick said Saturday's practice session will begin at 9 a.m., with a situational scrimmage schedule later within the team's practice. He said the scrimmage would like start around 10 a.m.
