Rams Cross Country Teams Picked Second in Mountain West

The Mountain West Conference released the preseason cross country polls today and Colorado State was picked second in both the men?s and women?s.
The men?s team received two of the six first place votes and finished second in points (21). They will be looking for their third straight NCAA appearance. Defending Mountain West champion BYU received the other four votes and received the most points (23) to finish first in the conference. Air Force (16), New Mexico (12), Utah (11) and Wyoming (6) round out the voting by the leagues coaches.
The CSU women were also picked second in points (43) behind BYU. They received one first place vote and have been to the NCAA Championship three of the past four years. Colorado State?s top runner from last season, Katie Yemm will lead the team after competing in last years NCAA Championship. BYU is the defending national champion. They received the other seven first place votes and received the most points with 49. The rest of the coaches picks were Air Force (34), Utah (33), New Mexico (20) and Wyoming (20), San Diego State (18) and UNLV (7).
The Rams first meet of the season is the Wyoming Invitational, September 5, in Laramie, Wyo.
