Women Finish 2nd, Men Fourth At The Mountain West Championships

The Colorado State women?s cross country team finished an impressive 2nd place at the 2004 Mountain West Championships, hosted by San Diego State University, today with a team score of 59 points. BYU took home both team titles making this the sixth straight conference title for the Cougar women. The CSU men earned a fourth place finish behind BYU, Air Force and New Mexico. The Cougar men have won five of the last six Mountain West titles.
Sophomore Danielle Korb led the CSU women with a sixth place finish covering the 6K course in 22:24. Senior Michelle Carman placed ninth overall with a time of 22:49, while junior Nicole Feest was close behind with a time of 22:53 and a 12th place finish. Newcomer Linnea Pudwill, a sophomore from Houston, Alaska, finished 15th in a time of 23:04. Colleen Blair, Rebekah Yetzer and Crystal Clark finished 17th, 26th, and 32nd respectively.
On the men?s side, senior Mike Nicks was the top CSU finisher, placing 5th overall in a time of 25:19. Junior Josh Glaab crossed the line immediately after Nicks, just one second behind. Matt Pettit placed 19th in a time of 26:05, with Paul Michel, Rob Watson, Jeff Scull, and Matt Cianciulli rounding out the scoring finishing 23rd, 24th, 28th, and 39th respectively.
Colorado State will host the NCAA Mountain Regional Meet Saturday November 13th at Collindale Golf Course in Fort Collins.
