Rams Continue Spring Drills

Colorado State University's football squad continued spring workouts Wednesday with a two-hour practice session.

"I thought we were a little sluggish," said coach Sonny Lubick of the workout.

"We got a lot of teaching done, but I thought we were a little sluggish. We've had solid practices up to this point."

Lubick said cooler weather, like Wednesday's overcast skies in Fort Collins, usually helps pick up the practice tempo. But that wasn't the case during the two-hour workout.

"We need to come out Thursday and have a good practice, go out and pick it up."

Lubick also said competition remains fierce especially on defense, where the Rams must replace nine starters from last year's squad.

"Overall, I'm pretty pleased so far. Our best chance for success will be to outwork the opposition," Lubick said.

Colorado State will practice again Thursday, then take the holiday weekend off before returning to the field again next Tuesday.
