Colorado State University's football team, forced indoors for a brief Monday workout, was back outside Tuesday for a two-hour workout.
"We added 15 more minutes," to make up for time lost by Monday's rainstorm, said Rams' coach Sonny Lubick following the practice.
"If we can practice tomorrow like we did today, we'll be fine."
Lubick said the biggest challenge for CSU's defense in Saturday night's game at Brigham Young is continued improvement.
"The big thing on defense is we're playing hard. In the secondary, we're starting to play a little smarter, understand, and see things."
Lubick expects BYU to throw upwards of 40 passes in the game, especially if the Rams can thwart the Cougars' running game.
"If we can stop the run, we'll see at least 40 passes if not more. If they can run the ball, they'll run it more."
BYU quarterback John Beck has caught Lubick's eye with his play.
"Beck looks confident. Last year, he played very well. He can really zip the ball. He's a lot better this year than he was last year. And he played good against us last year," said Lubick.
Beck led BYU to a 31-21 win over CSU in Fort Collins last season.
Injuries remain a concern for Lubick and his staff. Center Albert Bimper, who missed last week's win over Utah with knee and hamstring ailments, remains doubtful. Linebacker Jahmal Hall was injured at the end of last week's game. An MRI showed no major damage to his knee, but Hall is doubtful this week. Linebacker Courtney Jones figures to play after leaving the Utah game with bruised ribs. Offensive guard Josh Day did not play last week while nursing a hamstring strain. Day did limited work Tuesday and remains questionable for Saturday's game.
Saturday's game will be telecast live in Denver, Fort Collins and northern Colorado by Fox Sports Net Rocky Mountain. Drew Goodman calls the play-by-play, Howard Griffith is the analyst, and Keith Bleyer provides sideline reports.
CSU officials also said that tickets for the team's Oct. 22 game with Wyoming continue to sell at a rapid pace. By early Tuesday, only 4,500 tickets remain for the game, which begins at 1 p.m. in Fort Collins.
Tickets are available by calling 1-800-491-RAMS, or online at CSURAMS.com. Tickets are also available at all King Soopers and City Market grocery store locations throughout the state of Colorado.
