Fort Collins, Colo. - Colorado State University Director of Athletics Mark Driscoll said today the school will have special events planned during the Rams' final home game Nov. 12 against San Diego State. The game begins at 1 p.m. at Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium.
Driscoll said the school will honor 14 departing seniors and the 2005 Sports Hall of Fame inductees, and honor law enforcement and military personnel as part of "Spirit of America Day," at the stadium.
He said the 14 seniors will be introduced during pregame ceremonies.
"These student-athletes have played a vital role in the continued success of our football program," said Driscoll. "We want to recognize them appropriately during the pregame ceremonies."
Driscoll also said five individuals who will be inducted into the school's hall of fame, and two current coaches who will receive hall of honor awards, will be honored during the game as well. Plus, the school annually recognizes law enforcement and military personnel as part of the "Spirit of America" activities.
Driscoll said tickets for the team's final home game are moving quickly. Both of CSU's two most recent home games drew more than 32,000 fans to Sonny Lubick Field at Hughes Stadium, and he's hopeful another large crowd is on hand as Colorado State continues its march toward achieving bowl eligibility.
To date, CSU has more than 121,000 fans in four home dates, a per-game average of 30,332. With another capacity crowd against SDSU, the attendance figures will rank among the top five in school history.
"The game day environment at the stadium has never been better," said Driscoll. "The atmosphere is created by the excitement provided by Coach Lubick and our football team, as well as the overwhelming support of the fans."
Colorado State is offering several ticket specials for the final home game, including:
